It's a day trip from Colombo .. and an easy place for camping.  From the bottom of the mountain you can reach the view point in a short time of about 20 minutes. It is a beautiful place with amazing beauty ..

From Agampolin Nawalapitiya Road> Left from Ulapane Junction> South from Kadadora Junction (Near Kotmale Reservoir Viewpoint)> Doragala Road (Mahaweli Seya Road)> Take the road towards the Tea Factory from Doragala Junction to reach Peacock Hill Crossing.

In addition, from Gampola Nuwara Eliya Road to Paradeka Junction to Doragala Junction.  You can also reach Kadadora Junction via Thawalantenna or Pussellawa.

If coming by public transport, the Doragala bus from Gampola via Ulapane will leave Gampola at 8 am.  The same bus will leave Doragala for Gampola at around 2 pm.  If the bus service is extended to Gampola at 8 am, you will have to take the Mawela / Kotmale bus from Gampola to Kadadora Junction by three wheeler or on foot .....

In addition, several public transport vans ply from Paradeka Junction to Doragala.

However, if you are going here, you have to go on the road near the Kotmale Stupa.  The map shows another way.  If you go that way it takes about 2 hours to go up the mountain.

The trek should be about 500m from the starting point through the Phineas jungle.  By avoiding the rainy season, you can avoid the hassle of seeing the scene due to leeches and fog.

When you reach the top of the hill.  On the left you can see Pussellawa town, Thawalantenna above it Perattasi, Charuyath Path mountains, Ragala mountains, Ramboda waterfall, Garadi waterfall, Poona waterfall, Nuwara Eliya mountains, Kotmale reservoir and the mountain range above it.

If this trip is going in a private vehicle

  •  Moneragala
  •  Kadadora Viharaya
  •  Kotmale Stupa
  •  Kotmale Dam
  •  Ranamune Pihilla
  •  Kadiyanlena Falls

You can wait for all this ..

The surrounding environment has become somewhat polluted with garbage as it has gained more traction in recent times.  If you go, bring back what you took.   Or it will be banned there soon
