Bambarabotu Ella in Sri Lankawa

Wewelwatta is a paradise with a series of waterfalls in the Ratnapura District.  Bambarabotu Falls is an uncharted stream hidden in the environment.

From Ratnapura town to Wewelwatta disease and from there to Balangoda turn left at the Wellawala junction about 5 km and after descending about a kilometer along the footpath which caused damage to a tea estate and reach this stream.

This is a bit hard to find.  It is very easy to find or get the help of another resident.  Residents refer to the potential pool at the falls as Na Kada.

With this waterfall the kind of popularization has built up.  Ability to see a small house with two sword tops and a cave known as the hiding place of the kings of Ravana in the past and also known as the Ravana Gap.  In the past, a lower caste couple lived in this place and the husband who tried to save this precious big woman from his wife who was the victim also fell victim and died.  It is the opinion of the people that the water in the village at the bottom of the waterfall later killed the germs of all those who ate the carnivorous meat that was killed.

Bambarabotu Oya or Maha Gagai is the creator of this temple which is believed to be very beautiful in the middle of the forest.  For the depth of the waters is unimaginable.  There is no place to drain when the water is working in the extra moment.  A resident of Illam said not to even think if you want to be in the middle of the waterfall.
